Truth Ministries’ No Child Hungry program

The children and volunteers of Truth Ministries with special guest Judge Kathleen L. Giesler

"With your love, help, prayers, support and donations we can make a difference here in Ottawa County so that there is no child hungry, “ reads the sign at Truth Ministries. On Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. the doors of Truth Ministries were open, welcoming the community to a free meal. The first Wednesday of every month Truth Ministries offers a free meal, but that’s not all they’re offering the community. Located in the former Portage Elementary building, Truth Ministries also houses a resale shop and a food pantry. Both the resale shop and food pantry are run on donations. Kroger recently donated three pallets of frozen food to the food pantry for the community meal on Wednesday. Kroger, Bassett’s, St. Joseph’s in Marblehead, private donors and a grant from the Ottawa County Foundation are the primary donors to the food pantry. “That’s what keeps us going,” said Lois Tuttamore.
