Penta to offer STNA and Pharmacy Technician classes in Oak Harbor

Penta Career Center Adult & Continuing Education has partnered with the Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus  in Oak Harbor to offer State Certified Nurse’s Aide (STNA) training starting this coming January. The class will be held at the Riverview Healthcare Campus three nights per week for eighteen weeks. Students may enroll at Riverview or at Penta’s campus in Perrysburg. Both classes start the first week of January. Classes are filling fast. Funding may be available.

Port Clinton Middle School food drive

Port Clinton Middle School Builders Club sponsored a food drive and collected 366 items for the local food pantry. PCMS Fleets (grade levels) had a competition to receive spirit points based on the number of items they brought in: Fleet 6-122, Fleet 7- 58 and Fleet 8- 104. An anonymous donor contributed another 88 items. PCMS Builders Club is sponsored by the local Port Clinton Kiwanis Club.

Port Clinton Artists' Club

Port Clinton Artists’ Club members Mary Lou Krasniewski, Dave Gaynor, Rosalie Kastelic, Carol Swope, Tricia O’Connor and Barb Gaynor surround their beautifully decorated tree at Veteran’s Park in Port Clinton. Trees are decorated and voted on throughout businesses in downtown Port Clinton. The money is given to a local charity.

Oak Harbor Students Perform with Toledo Symphony

On the evening of Nov. 28, Oak Harbor High School was the scene of sold-out performance that featured the Toledo Symphony Orchestra with Oak Harbor High School Choir and Band. Students were provided with the opportunity to perform alongside professional musicians. The performance also featured members of the Woodmore High School Chorale and Oak Harbor alum Kia Frank. The event was sponsored by the Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools Music Boosters.

Cookie walk at ICC

Paula Eberle, at the Immaculate Conception Church cookie walk, with her purchase. Paula baked cookies for the ICC cookie walk last Saturday and for the Humane Society cookie walk the same day. Paula has a very busy oven, as she also bakes cookies as gifts for friends and family.

“No Room at the Inn” weekend at ICC

At Immaculate Conception Catholic Church last weekend over 100 manger scenes were displayed. For the eighth year individuals and families brought in their personal manger scenes, from miniature to nearly life-sized, to share with others.
