Bataan Intermediate Grade 5 Book Club

Mrs. Kim Periat, Grade 5 teacher at Bataan Memorial Intermediate School, organized an online book club for students this year. They just completed reading their first book and got together over recess to discuss and share their presentations. Students read either “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio or “The One and Only Ivan” by Katherine Applegate.

Students learn that money matters

On March 5 over 150 eight graders participated in the “Finance 101 Walk the Walk” Event held at Oak Harbor High School. The purpose of the event was to allow students to experience the importance of financial literacy in a fun and interactive way.

I.C.S. third graders study geology

Mrs. Danielle Linja’s third graders at I.C.S. have found themselves looking deep into the earth’s surfaces in their geology lessons this week.  The class has studied the earth and its layers as well as different types of rocks and how they formed.

Destination: Excellence seminar from BWC held March 15

A free 90-minute seminar introducing Destination: Excellence is being offered March 15 in Oak Harbor from 9-10:30 a.m. Ohio BWC’s bundle of programs can help to increase workplace safety, improve injured worker care and lower workers’ compensation costs. It bundles many of the state’s services and strategies into programs.

5k Training program offered for Daisy Run

If you thought you were someone that could not run a 5k race, this may be the opportunity you need. The annual Marblehead Bank 5K Daisy walk/run will take place on May 11. A 6 week training program will take place at Otterbein North Shore to prepare individuals for the run/walk.

Port Clinton Academic Boosters announce 2013 PCHS Alumni Hall of Fame inductee

The Port Clinton Academic Boosters will induct a new member into the Port Clinton High School Alumni Hall of Fame on Wednesday, May 1. Port Clinton High School alumnus Herbert L.Misch, PCHS Class of 1936, will be inducted posthumously. His induction will forever link the famous Ford Mustang with Port Clinton High School. Mr. Misch was the Vice President of Engineering in 1963 and had a role in developing the Mustang I.
