Thank you from the Kohlmans

How do you come up with words to thank everyone that touched Devin and our families’ hearts? So many come to our minds and many more we still do not know.

We start by thanking the kids. Again, there are so many kids. A few special names come to mind: Zach Murphy, close friend; Caden Swander, close friend and neighbor; Claudia Rosiar, friend and prom date; Hailey Ball and Ryan McDougall, friend who helped start “Team Devin” shirts. Your friendship and kindness were admirable, as was that from all the kids.

Lighthouse festooned for holiday season

Tom Hartman, Barb Mowry, Cheryl Gildenmeister, and Sue Hartman weathered bitter cold and winds to string garland and tie bows on Marblehead Lighthouse November 23.  (Photo by K Salzgeber)

The Marblehead Lighthouse and Keeper’s House are festively decked out in pine garlands and red bows, ready for the holiday season. The Lady on the Lake sports two LED circles, having had her 150-watt halogen bulb and green lens cover replaced late last spring. Sighted from more than seven miles away, her new light is also green but only uses 20-watts of electricity.  It has a battery backup in case of power failure.

Ferguson Gallery open house

Fire and Ice ornament

“Gazing out my window the moon appeared larger than ever before. So cold the snow looked like a blanket of crystals laying silently on the ground. Icicles reflecting the cool light of the moon made me wonder how I could capture this moment in molten glass,” said glass artist Cary Ferguson. Ferguson is pleased to introduce the Fire & Ice 2013 ornament.

Ferguson Gallery’s 15th annual open house begins Friday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and continues Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
