Thanks to friends and family To our many relatives and friends thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers at the sudden passing of Eugene (Bud) LaCumsky, my husband, our dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. We wish to acknowledge with deepest appreciation your many acts of kindness, words of comfort, messages of sympathy, floral arrangements and memorials that have been bestowed upon us during this most difficult time. Gratitude to St. Vincent Mercy hospital and chaplains. A special thank you to Pastor Chris for the wonderful service, so fitting for Bud. We continue to realize how much family and friends sharing our sorrow helps to lighten our burden and gives us strength to go on.

| Memorial Day The Oak Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all those that contributed to our Memorial Day Military Picture Display located at Flat Iron Park. It was a great honor and privilege to provide our troops with a small thank you for all that they have done and continue to do. God bless our troops. Oak Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce
To Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce: I love your city of Put-in-Bay and spend many hours visiting. I love it so much I’m going to have my ashes spread around it. But I was appalled Friday, June 11, when I went to the waterfront area by The Boardwalk and smelled the dead fish and garbage. It looked like it had been there for quite sometime. If you going to invite the world to your front door it seems there wouldn’t be the stench of dead fish and garbage welcoming them. I’m probably one of your biggest boosters in telling people of the wonderful area and all that it has to offer. Please make my next visit a pleasant and enjoyable one with out smell of dead fish and garbarge. Frank Kekes

Thank you councilmen I am not writing to complain about our streets, which is no longer just bad, but has become shameful, disgusting and dangerous. Nor am I writing to complain about our outrageous water and sewer bills, which I believe will even be higher in the near future. And I am not even going to mention Lakeview Park, where an unbelievable amount of money is being spent on a “small masonry building,” where the tourist can wash the sand off their feet. The fact is I am not writing to complain about anything, or anyone, I am writing to give praise and thank yous to some of Port Clinton’s finest citizens. First of all I would like to thank two ex-councilmen who gave years of their time, trying against all odds, to make Port Clinton a better place to live. These gentlemen were not “bobbleheads, or followers,” they were leaders, who did their own thinking — and they always kept the citizens informed on what was going on. I truly believe that Dr. Chapman and Jeff Morgan were the best thing that happened to our administration in last 50 years. I know they will be missed but I do not believe they will ever be replaced. I would also like to thank the many people who ask Âmy friends, my family members and myself why I no longer write letters to the editor, and will I again be doing so. A little more than a year ago I lost someone who I miss more than I can put into words, and since then nothing seems important. I see no reason to write anymore letters, because I believe Port Clinton has finally become a “Tourist Town.” A few years ago I told you what an old business man told me back in 1939, what makes a tourist town — he said “a tourist town is a town where the business people gets the dollars, the workers get the pennies, and the residents gets the shaft.” Now tell me, citizens, is Port Clinton a tourist town or isn’t it? Citizens get involved. Bob Walls Sr. |

Thank you This thank you to the Port Clinton Police and EMTs is long, long overdue. We want to thank them for all the times they had to come to our home. Their very concerned approach was very reassuring to us. Out of four times we’ve had to call for assistance, the response time was amazing. Three times, Geo had to be transported to the hospital and each time they assured me that it was their duty to help us and not to feel bad about calling them. Although the fourth time did not call for going to the hospital, the response time was also excellent — I don’t know what I would have done without their assistance. Thank you, thank you police Lt. “John,” and also all the other times thank you to the police officers who waited with me to lock up the house and head to Magruder Hospital.

Business Climate Survey Thank you to all Port Clinton Area Business Owners for your help with the Port Clinton City Council Planning and Development Committee 2010 Business Climate Survey. As the committee’s volunteer college intern who conducted this survey and analyzed the data, I became familiar with the views of local business owners.

Thanks Magruder First of all I would like to thank Dr. Crow and all the doctors she sent to look in on me. I have just returned home from a nine-day stay in the hospital and want to tell this community about the great care I received. I can honestly say that there was not one time I felt as if I was not being treated the very best I could be. The staff was so kind. I had some rough times and there was always someone there to make it as easy as possible for me. They were just as good to my family.
