Leo and Ruth Kimmet celebrate 60th anniversary

Leo and Ruth Kimmet reaffirmed their wedding vows at Immaculate Conception Church on Sunday, May 12, during the 10:30 a.m. mass, with Pastor Fr. John Missler officiating. A family dinner was held at Mon Ami after the mass.

Leo and Ruth have resided in Erie Township for the past 60 years and spend their winters in Ft. Myers, FL. They have two children, Kevin and Karen, and four grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Benjamin and Ashley.

Anniversary — Shell

Dave and Gail Shell were married Aug. 25, 1962 — 50 years ago — in Monroe, Mich.  Their friends at Orchard Isle gave them a surprise 50th anniversary party where they wore wedding attire and renewed their vows on the shores of Lake Erie. Following the ceremony was a golf cart procession around the community ending with a dinner reception at Orchard Isle.

Anniversary — Karl & Barbara Gates

Karl and Barbara Gates celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 9, at a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Boniface Church in Oak Harbor followed with a family dinner.
The couple was married April 15, 1961, at St. Boniface Church by the late Rev. Maurice Herman.

May Anniversary

Mark and Sharon MayMark and Sharon May, of Port Clinton, will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary with a family dinner in Madison, Wis.
The couple was married June 7, 1975, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sandusky by the Rev. Robert Donnelly.
They are the parents of David (Maggie) May, of Richland Center, Wis., Kevin (Dayna) May, of Oregon, Wis., and Eric May, of Cincinnati. They have two granddaughters, Rowan and Violet.
Mark is a pharmacist at Heartland Health Services in Toledo and Sharon is a preschool intervention specialist at North Point Educational Service Center.

Anniversary — Gollihue

Harland and Dorothy Gollihue, of Marblehead, will celebrate their 65th anniversary April 28 with a family dinner.
The Gollihues met in Salt Lake City when Harland was in the Navy. The pair was married in Dorothy’s parents’ home in Ogden, Utah, on April 28, 1945. They have lived in the area for more than 30 years and had a son and daughter.
Their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren wish them many more years of happiness.
