Don Epke wins best in show at Riverview Car Show

The Riverview HealthCare Campus hosted a car, truck and bike show on their grounds Sunday, June 29.  The display featured twelve cars of various makes and models, with the best of show trophy going to Riverview resident Donald Epke for his 1927 Ford Model T.  His car has been a project lasting about 20 years. Installed on his ‘made in the USA’ automobile are many additional accessories considered upgrades during that time period, including bumpers, a speedometer, wind wings, wire wheels, and a dashboard light.

Fritchie Road to be closed July 7-August 29

Ottawa County has contracted KF Construction to replace a bridge on Fritchie Road at Schultz Ditch.  In order to compete the work Fritchie Road will be closed to all traffic during construction; between Rymers and Carroll-Erie Roads.  Work will begin July 7 and is expected to be complete by August 29.  Emergency vehicles and local traffic will NOT be permitted through the area and must plan an alternate route.

Please keep in mind that schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.  Please view our website at www.co.ottawa.oh.us/countyengineers/roadclosures.htm for updated closure information.  Changes to the schedules will be posted as they become available.

RVI art studio creates banners for Oak Harbor

Oak Harbor Power employee Dan Wendt hung a banner created by the artists at Riverview Industries Imagine Art studio Monday morning on Ohio 19 just south of Ohio 163 in Oak Harbor. RvI provides employment and other services to adults who have developmental disabilities. Four banners created by Imagine Art artists can be seen through September. They can also be seen on Ohio 163 near the intersection with Ohio 105, near Adolphus Kraemer Park, and on Locust Street.
