The Danbury Township Trustees, with the assistance of Ken Kostal, will hold a fundraising dinner at Big Bopper’s Restaurant, 7581 East Harbor Road, on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 4 until 8 p.m. Kostal offered to host the dinner to raise funds for the purchase of 26 memorial trees to be planted in Newtown, CT.
Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) was sworn in to the 113th Congress on Thursday, Jan. 3, at noon by House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH). Following the official oath of office, Speaker Boehner conducted a ceremonial swearing-in, where he joined Congressman Latta and his family for a photo opportunity. Senator Randy Gardner was sworn in Monday to begin his new term as state senator for the 2nd Ohio District, which includes Erie, Ottawa, Lucas, Fulton and Wood counties. Gardner was administered the oath of office by Justice Sharon Kennedy of the Ohio Supreme Court.
