Day Habilitation Program Ribbon Cutting at Port Clinton Goodwill location

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Goodwill Industries Day Habilitation facility located at 205 SE Catawba Rd. The Day Habilitation programs are offered in Erie and Ottawa counties for people with disabilities to work in a closely supervised environment. Workers sort donations (such as baseball cards, jewelry and toys) and bag or organize to sell in the Goodwill stores. Workers also scan donated books and enter them into a computer database so the books can be sold on Amazon or Half.com.

“It’s a great work environment,” said Goodwill CEO Eric Kochendoerfer. “We are very excited for this location to open.”

Port Clinton Night with the Cleveland Cavaliers

Port Clinton High School is pleased to announce their very own A Cappella group, Touch of Class, was selected to perform the National Anthem at the January 5 Cleveland Cavaliers game.  The Cavs organization has made the evening into "Port Clinton High School Night with the Cavs!" 

PCHS has order forms for January 5 discounted tickets at a group rate of $30 per ticket. In addition, a portion of each ticket sold will be donated back to the PCHS Choir program. Ticket order forms are available in the Port Clinton High School Main office, or you can download the form at www.pccsd.net under the News. The discount ticket sale deadline is Monday, Nov. 25. PCHS Touch of Class is under the direction of Mr. Eric Watts.

Mole Day at Port Clinton High School

Port Clinton High School students Aaron Lockhart and Dennis Elias measure a mole of aluminum foil to create a mole foil sculpture on Oct. 23, Mole Day at PCHS.  

Oct. 23 was Mole Day at Port Clinton High School. Not a day honoring a small burrowing animal, but a day declared by Chemistry teacher Mrs. Nichole Wiechman to celebrate Avogadro’s number  6.02 x 1023.
