Ballet School putting on Gala 2012

The Ballet School, under the direction of Mary Ann Snider presents the upcoming production of A Gala 2012 at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Port Clinton High School Performing Arts Center.
This year’s production will include a couple of favorite numbers from past productions including Egypte with the music from Cirque du Soleil’s show “Mystere,” 42nd Street Medley and Me, Myself and I. The advanced students will be performing solos to music from Broadway to contemporary, with artists such as LeAnn Rymes, Adele, Florence and the Machine and Michael Buble just to name a few.


Library gets Early Literacy Station

Ida Rupp Public Library and Erie Islands Library announce the acquisition of the Early Literacy Station, a complete educational solution loaded with 50 educational software titles for kids ages 2–10 in the English edition and over 50 in the Bilingual Spanish edition. The Early Literacy Station offers children a safe, standalone computer not connected to the Internet that is age-appropriate, engaging and academically relevant for children. The ELS has a colorful keyboard and tiny mouse to promote easy learning and discovery.


Luncheon, uniform sale coming up at Magruder

Educational Luncheon
On Monday, May 21st at noon, Magruder Hospital will host an educational luncheon in the Conference Center.  A representative from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office will be talking about Scams & Consumer Protection.                     
This luncheon is part of a monthly education series in the hospital’s conference center, which features a different topic and speaker each month. The luncheon series is open to the public and the cost is $6.  The program is free if you do not wish to have lunch.
