Black competes in first collegiate bowling tournament

Port Clinton graduate and Davenport University Freshman Sean Black competed in his first collegiate bowling tournament last weekend at the 43rd Midwest Collegiate Tournament. Black had a total of 1641 for 8 games (205 average) and led the team in scoring on the second day of competition with zero open frames.

Bataan students learn fire safety

Students at Bataan Memorial Primary Elementary learned about Fire Safety the week of Oct. 7. Bay Township Fire Department visited with Grade 2 students on Friday, Oct. 11. Pictured here are Gage Johnson, Miranda McDougall and Camden Redd with Firefighter Doug McDougall. 

Earlier in the week Port Clinton Fire Department visited with all kindergarten and Grade 1 students. Students enjoyed seeing the fireman’s gear up close along with the Fire Trucks.See more pictures and short video of the visit at www.pccsd.net under the “News”.

Funding sought to build walk path in Port Clinton

On Tuesday, the WSOS Board of Directors gave its approval to WSOS staff to apply for $30,000 from the Ohio Capitol Corporation for Housing Place-Based Strategies Fund. These funds will be used to demolish one or more blighted structures in the Conestoga West area of Port Clinton. The demolition would be an effort to improve the park area of the neighborhood and create a walk and bike path for the children who live there. This neighborhood borders on a tax credit development, Port Clinton Pointe, which WSOS contributed to constructing.
