Port Clinton Lighthouse

Citizens of Port Clinton,

Last fall, after a resisting for more than a year, the mayor agreed to allow the Port Clinton Lighthouse Conservancy, which had been working diligently to restore the city’s 118-year-old lighthouse, to place the historic lighthouse in Water Works Park north of the Derby Pond.

Almost a year later, we are still waiting to place the lighthouse in the park.

RC Warbirds Over Port Clinton

Over the weekend, August 23-24, RC Warbirds Over Port Clinton dazzled the spectators at Carl R. Keller Field at the Erie-Ottawa International Airport. Pilots and supporters from around Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Canada took to the field for awesome displays of aeronautics.

“It’s a great educational event for the spectators,” said Event Director Brian Dee. “We learn the rich history of World War I and World War II; we have B-17 and Avenger history. It’s a great event for everyone.”

Around 50 pilots each day took their planes to the field and put on a show for spectators. Dee said that Saturday 2500 people came to the airfield and museum and on Sunday it was a little over that.
