Fifth graders meet their PCHS NHS pen pals

Members of PCHS National Honor Society corresponded with grade 5 students at Bataan Intermediate Elementary during the school year.  Letter writing is part of the grade 5 Language Arts curriculum and NHS members serve as role models to the younger students. On Monday, May 12, the pen pals finally met face to face for an afternoon of fun at Bataan Memorial Intermediate. After meeting for treats in the cafeteria, all the students had fun on the playground. More pictures are at pccsd.net or  facebook.com/portclintonschools.

Art Walk returns to Historic Downtown Port Clinton

One of Port Clinton’s newest, fun traditions is back. Beginning May 22, Art Walk, the free family-friendly downtown art celebration, will be held the fourth Thursday of each month from 5-8 p.m.

In 2013 the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council (GPCAAC), Historic Downtown Port Clinton, art galleries and venues united to form Art Walk as a means of promoting both art and downtown businesses. Once a month, a growing crowd gathered to browse art in the galleries and businesses and on the sidewalks, stroll from store to store, grab a bite to eat in one of the restaurants, and listen to live music.

Walleye Walk & 5K Run 2014

Help support victims of domestic violence and our local youth on Sunday, May 25.  Run or walk through the streets of Port Clinton raising money for Ruth Ann’s House and the Port Clinton Recreation Department by participating in the annual Walleye Walk & 5K Run.  Entry fee is $20 if registered by May 23 and $25 on race day.  T-shirts will be given to all who pre-register and while supplies last on race day.
