On Friday, July 18, there were 15 graduates in the Erie-Ottawa International Airport’s July Junior Pilot Camp. At the camp the children learned the basics of flying and had hands-on experience in the physics of flight and were exposed to airport maintenance and management. There was also an introductory flight on an airplane and in a rotorcraft, a tour of the airport and gave the children an opportunity to meet and talk with pilots.
At the graduation on Friday, family and friends of the graduates gathered to watch the last act of the pilot camp which was a Jeopardy battle. The pilot Jeopardy gave students a chance to show what they learned during the camp. In first place there was a tie between Max Steinhauser and Jackson Kennedy. They even tied in final Jeopardy. In second place was Jon Brausch.
