Applications now being accepted for Tools for Schools

The Salvation Army-Port Clinton Service Unit is now accepting applications for the Tools for School program. The Port Clinton Service Unit’s “Tools for School” program will assist local families in financial need of school supplies and book bags.   Applications for this program can be picked up and dropped off through Aug. 31 at the local Salvation Army office located at The Sutton Center, 1854 E. Perry St., Suite 800, Port Clinton. Distribution of school supplies and book bags will also be at the local office the week of Aug. 20, 2012.
This program is completely supported by The Ottawa County Community Foundation and local donations. To help, send donations to The Salvation Army-PCSU, 1854 E. Perry St., Suite 800, Port Clinton, OH 43452.

Coulda Woulda performing at Riverfront Live!

Over the past 20 years, two musicians — Chase Elliott and Frank Schmenk — have collaborated throughout Erie County and are now together as Coulda Woulda. They will perform at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Riverfront Live! — the free summer concert series sponsored by Main Street Port Clinton. The show will take place under the canopy at North Jefferson Street with the Portage River as the backdrop.

Ottawa County Fair names art winners

Ottawa County Fair School Art Exhibit ribbons were issued to the following students throughout Ottawa County. The School Art Exhibit is coordinated through the efforts of B. Jean Fanning and Sandra Butzin from North Point Educational Service Center and with the support of the Ottawa County Cabinet of Superintendents (Diane Kershaw/Guy Parmigian, Benton-Carroll-Salem Local; Patrick Adkins, Port Clinton City;  Daniel Parent, Danbury Local; Dennis Mock, Genoa Area Local; Douglas Crooks, North Point E.S.C.; and John Fernbaugh/Linda Bringman, Woodmore Local).
