Local students participate in Pinning Ceremony

Fourteen Bowling Green State University Firelands College students will participate in a pinning ceremony Aug. 5 for earning their associate of applied science degrees in radiologic technology.
“We are proud of our graduates who have completed the program and have chosen to work in an admirable profession for the delivery of healthcare,” said BGSU Firelands Radiography Program Director Sylvia Fedro.
The graduates have completed a rigorous program that included a two-year clinical internship and they have earned the right to take the national examination of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

K. of C. installs new officers

Port Clinton Knights of Columbus Council 1750 recently installed new officers for 2012-2013. The installation ceremonies were conducted at the Council Hall by District Deputy John Madison, assisted by Chaplin Rev. Ray Ensman. A reception was held in conjunction with the ceremonies attended by relatives and friends. The officers for 2012-2013 are: John Madison (front left), District Deputy; Cat Alvarez, Financial Secretary; Andy Migas, Grand Knight; Dave Ashton, Deputy Grand Knight; Edward Maher, Chancellor; Ed Verkin (back left), Two Year Trustee; Octavio Alvarado, Advocate; Paul Anderson, Outside Guard; Don Gresbach, Three Year Trustee; Dale Bird, Treasurer; Mike Mathews, Inside Guard; Jerry Arnold, One Year Trustee;  Mike Hayes, Warden; and the Rev. New home shop in downtown PC

The Port Clinton Chamber recently held a ribbon cutting at Keith Fleming Home Furnishings and Accessories at 132 E. Second St., Port Clinton. Fleming, a Port Clinton native who has been living in Texas, moved home to open the shop that specializes in a fun, energetic mix of antiques and new items. The new addition to downtown is quirky and fun showcasing folk art and more.
