VFW Post 2480 feeds the hungry

The VFW Post 2480 in Port Clinton couldn’t have wished for a better giving season from the community. Post 2480 held a food scavenger hunt in Port Clinton in November with a great response. After the food scavenger hunt, Bataan School, Port Clinton Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 79, the Ohio National Guard Red Horse Squadron, and VFW members ran food drives to gather items for the needy.

“We had 12 tables full of food,” said Teresia of the VFW Post 2480. “Originally we had 13 families to deliver to, but we had so much food we added 7 more families. We even had more food after adding families so we are donating the left over donations to the local food pantries.”

The food was donated to the families on Fri. Dec. 20 starting at 6 p.m. To contact VFW Post 2480 please call 419-734-9981.
