ICS fourth grader donates to Locks of Love

Emily Theibert, a 10 year old ICS fourth grader, recently donated her hair to Locks of Love for Easter. Emily was inspired to do this act because she heard about a 5 year old girl from Sandusky who has brain cancer. Emily loved her long hair, but the need to help others was greater to her. Emily’s grandma, Terrie Theibert, took her to The Moxie Salon on Perkins Ave. to have the owner, Amanda Stavaskie, cut her hair to donate.

Fishing derby at Walleye Festival

The Skipper Bud’s Kids Fishing Derby at the Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 at 12 p.m.  This will be a free, family oriented event and it will take place at the Derby Pond at Waterworks Park.

All children ages 12 and under are invited to participate.  Trophies for each age group will be awarded in each of the following categories: longest, shortest, most fish caught, and most unique.  Trophies will be presented in the Entertainment Tent immediately following the derby.

A limited number of fishing poles will be provided.  Children are encouraged to bring their lucky pole!  Bait will also be provided.

Each registrant will receive a goody bag.  Registration begins day of the event at 11 a.m. at Derby Pond.  Please complete the registration form in advance and bring with you day of event to help expedite registration process.

Registration forms for the Skipper Bud’s Kids Fishing Derby can be picked up at the Main Street Port Clinton office located at 110 Madison Street in downtown or by downloading the form at the Walleye Festival website www.walleyefestival.com.

Edgewood Manor to host joint replacement class

Edgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center will be hosting a Joint Replacement Class on April 28 at 6 p.m.  The class will be held at Edgewood Manor, 1330 S. Fulton Street, Port Clinton. 

The class will contain a wide variety of information pertaining to joint replacement procedures.  Topics will be useful for individuals at various stages, from those considering undergoing a joint replacement to those that have scheduled their procedure.  Michael Lopez, Rehabilitation Director, will be on hand to answer questions and concerns about the rehabilitation process.

Light refreshments will be provided.  For questions or to make a reservation,by April 25, call 419.734.5506.
