PC girls even record at 1-1 with win over Woodmore

The Redskins were in control racing out to a 10-point lead after one quarter and a 17-point advantage at halftime in their 68-39 defeat of Woodmore in non-conference action last week. Emily Ashley led all scorers with 22 points, Hope Thorbahn finished with 16 and Hannah Weaver chipped in with 13. Woodmore’s Allie Wank had 14 points to lead the Wildcats and Mackenzie Johnson finished with 12.

PC boys open season with victory over Bellevue

PC's Nathan Stubblefield hoists up a 3-pointer against Bellevue

After falling behind nine points midway thru the first quarter, the Redskins rallied to take the lead into halftime before pulling away from Bellevue in their 55-48 victory over the Redmen last weekend. The win, which puts Port Clinton at 1-0, saw the Skins outscore Bellevue (0-1), 15-6, in the second quarter to take a 22-17 lead at halftime before the Redmen responded by cutting the deficit to 36-35 at the end of three.

The Compassionate Friends participating in Worldwide Candle Lighting Dec. 8

The death of a child is devastating and it’s important to the family that the child always be remembered. That’s why members of The Compassionate Friends of Ottawa County (TCF) will participate in an annual worldwide event designed to honor the memories of all children, regardless of age, who have died. The chapter is joining Sunday, Dec. 8, with hundreds of organized memorial services around the world for The Compassionate Friends 17th annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, an event now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting in the world.
