PC boys tennis team loses to Huron

Port Clinton boys tennis team played Huron Thursday in an SBC Match at Huron.  The Redskins lost 1-4. This moved PC to 2-5 (1-2).

Noah Cross played another tough match and lost to a very strong opponent. Ryan Norgard stepped up to play #2 singles and lost a heartbreaker. A third set was replaced by a Super Tiebreaker to move the match along as the team result had been decided. The match was very back and forth but Ryan came up on the wrong end.  Ellis Adolph struggled with Patrick Dusza’s net game at third singles.  Will Mercurio stepped into #1 doubles with Tristan Auxter and they lost to a very strong doubles team.  Cameron King and Dean Colston executed the game plan of attacking the net very well in their victory at #2 doubles.

The scores were as follows:

1st Singles:  Jake Guerrero (H) def. Noah Cross (PC) 6-1, 6-2
2nd Singles:   Benji Battiste (H) def. Ryan Norgard (PC) 3-6, 6-4, 10-6
3rd Singles:  Patrcik Dusza (H) def. Ellis Adolph (PC) 6-1, 6-2
1st Doubles:  Jake Lehrer/Ben Schoewler (H) def. Will Mercurio/Tristan Auxter (PC) 6-2, 6-2
2nd Doubles:   Cameron King/Dean Colston (PC) def. Jack Springer/Nick Swope 7-6(5), 6-2

Port Clinton next plays in the PC Doubles tournament Saturday at 4 p.m.

Antique Appraisal April 27

An Antique Appraisal Fundraiser is being held by the Port Clinton Friends of the Cemetery at the Ida Rupp Library Sunday, April 27. There will be five appraisers on hand from 1-4 p.m. There will be a limit of two items per person at a cost of $5 per item. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards paving the roads in Riverview Cemetery.
