ICS After School Art Program

Joni Hoffman, the art teacher at Immaculate Conception School, inspires her students to love art so much that they want to come back after school and create. And create is what they do. Immaculate Conception School held its first meeting/work session of the all new Art Club this past Wednesday afternoon. The art club is made up of students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 and will meet once a month in the school’s art room.  Each monthly meeting will explore a new era, style, or artistic idea. October’s class featured crafts made with duct tape. The students were encouraged to make whatever they wished out of the utility tape that comes in a variety of fun colors and prints. Alyssa Diaz made a mask of Medusa. Madison Weichman, Paige Reineck, and Ella Roberts chose to fashionably cover the letters in their initials. Savannah Nyang even covered a small lamp with the colorful tape.  The imaginations in the ICS Art Club are sure to soar and take their curiosity and creativity to new levels throughout this school year.
