Port Clinton City Schools Announces Terrific Kids for February 2014

In cooperation with the Port Clinton Kiwanis Club, Port Clinton City Schools recognizes outstanding elementary students as “Terrific Kids”.  Terrific Kids are selected in each class each month to recognize students for working to the best of their ability to improve academic performance, behavior, relationships with peers, displays honesty, or attendance.  The following have been honored as Terrific Kids in February 2014:

Edgewood Manor welcomes new Facility Rehabilitation Director

Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Lopez, PTA, to the rehabilitation team.  Lopez brings six  years of experience to the therapy setting.  He is a graduate of Rhodes State College with a degree in Applied Science and Physical Therapist Assistant.  He is currently  finishing his Bachelors of Science degree at The University of Michigan. All of his work experience has been in long term care. 

Originally from Leipsic, Lopez is pleased to be back in his home state after working in Michigan and Texas. He has a well established reputation in the long term care industry for quality of care and for achieving superior outcomes for patients needing rehabilitation.  He has extensive experience and training in a wide range of rehab areas including orthopedic, muscle strains, joint strains, post stroke care, spine pain and dysfunction, vestibular rehab and other areas of therapeutic need. 

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Edgewood Manor team.  The high quality of care that our rehabilitation department provides to this community is an outstanding testament to the staff and I am proud to work with each of them,” stated Lopez.

Michael lives in Marblehead with his wife Emily and has two daughters.  He is looking forward to continuing his service to the community.

Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet free concerts

The Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet will present two free concerts in Ottawa County on March 12, thanks to a generous donation by the Ottawa County Community Foundation and arrangements by the Musical Arts Series at Firelands. The Brass Quintet will perform at 2 p.m. at Riverview Health Care Campus on SR 163 in Oak Harbor and at 3:30 p.m. at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community in Marblehead.

Friends and family of residents are invited, as are members of the community.
