Waterworks Park

For over 30 years I have summered in the Port Clinton area. During that time, I have watched the shrinking Lake Erie coastline being taken over by condominiums and hotels that are for the most part vacant from September to May. And now the last public shoreline is being considered for development of the same. With heartfelt pleading, I beg of you to not let this happen.


Port Clinton kindergarten

Port Clinton City School District student Logan Tupa is hard at work in the kindergarten classroom. Tuesday, Sept. 3, was the first day all kindergarten students attended even though school started August 26. To ease the transition into kindergarten, the school district has a staggered start for the youngest students.


'Building Doctors' will be making rounds in Port Clinton Sept. 26-27

Main Street Port Clinton and the Ohio Historic Preservation Office of the Ohio Historical Society will sponsor a Building Doctor Clinic for old-building owners in the Port Clinton area on Sept. 26-27.

The clinic features Building Doctors Justin Cook and Scott McIntosh of the Ohio Historic Preservation Office. It begins with a free seminar on Thursday evening, Sept. 26, from 7-9 p.m. at the Commodore Perry Inn, 255 Lakeshore Dr., Port Clinton. Open to all old-building owners in the area, the seminar will feature guidelines for renovation projects and ways to solve some of the most common problems of buildings dating from 1800 to 1955.
