Four Oak Harbor graduates receive American FFA degree

The American FFA Degree is the highest degree of advancement in the FFA, and is achieved by only the elite members. The prestigious honor was bestowed on all four Oak Harbor/Penta FFA graduates. Achieving this honor and in attendance were Tyler Kitzler, Lanee Sandwisch, and Jackie Lacumsky; while Bret Braun was recognized though not in attendance. All four members participated in many of the chapter’s career development teams, while being actively involved in a number of school and community activities.

Port Clinton High School Key Club recognized at Walleye Drop

On New Year’s Eve Port Clinton High School Key Club received a $500 check. The check was presented to the PCHS Key Club for their many years of service organizing the New Year’s Eve children’s fun night that is held from 4-7 p.m. The club has chosen to donate the award money to the Kiwanis International Worldwide Service Project to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus.

Grant Applications Invited

The Ottawa County Community Foundation invites nonprofit organizations in or serving Ottawa County to submit requests for grant funding to the Foundation. The Foundation makes grants to programs in the fields of education, social services, physical and mental health, safe and positive living environments, natural resources and the arts. The Foundation serves to provide for the enrichment of the quality of life in the Ottawa County community.
