Christmas tree and light recycling

To recycle your live Christmas trees, remove all decorations and tinsel.

Danbury Township: Drop trees at the fenced area behind the Township Hall garage

Village of Marblehead: Trees will be picked up at the curb through the month of January.

Village of Oak Harbor: Place trees at the curb for pickup through the month of January.

Port Clinton: Trees will be collected at the curb through January 16.

Lowe’s stores accept used Christmas lights for recycling, as well as compact fluorescent bulbs and re-chargeable batteries

Blankets for Cherry Street Mission

Oak Harbor United Methodist Church is collecting blankets for the Cherry St. Mission in Toledo. A dedication will be held Sunday, Jan.13. Blankets can be dropped off at the church Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. A potluck will be held after the 10:30 service. Any questions, call Darlene at 419-898-0659.

A Merry Christmas in the Conestoga West End

On Sunday, Dec. 23, Lee Horne, Mayor of Port Clinton Vince Leone and his wife Suzi, Chief of Police Rob Hickman and his wife Roseann and John L. Sullivan handed out gifts in the Conestoga West End of Port Clinton. Horne has wanted to do this project for several years. This year he found the support to make his wish come true and enrich the Christmas of many children.
