Port Clinton outlasts OH in sectional final

After defeating Oak Harbor twice in convincing fashion during the regular season, the Port Clinton Redskins needed a clutch performance to defeat the Rockets this time around, beating Oak Harbor, 52-45, to win the Division II Sectional Title.

Led by junior center Tiffany Colston, Port Clinton rallied from a six-point, first-half deficit, outscoring the Rockets, 26-18, in the second half.

Colston, who had a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds, helped the ‘Skins slowly pull away from Oak Harbor in the fourth quarter. After Rocket guard Makayla Carpenter scored on a three-point play with under a minute to play in the third quarter, Port Clinton outscored Oak Harbor, 18-9, from that point forward.

Coach Beau Carmon selected to lead Redskins into new era of football

Port Clinton City School District announces the selection of Beau Carmon as the new Head Football Coach. Coach Carmon was selected from a field of over fifty highly qualified applicants to lead the Redskins into the new era of Port Clinton Football. The coach selection committee consisted of representatives from administration, parents and alumni.

Coach Carmon was previously a Head Coach at Fostoria City Schools and Defensive Coordinator at Tiffin Calvert. He was a player at Tiffin Columbian and went on to be a three-year letter winner at the University of Findlay, playing left tackle. In addition to his duties as Head Football Coach, Mr. Carmon will be a Health Teacher at Port Clinton Middle School.

Port Clinton girls finish season with 19 wins

Behind a dominant performance from its defense, the Port Clinton Redskins defeated Huron, 46-19, to finish the season with a 19-3 record and a 12-2 mark in the Sandusky Bay Conference.

With 19 wins, Port Clinton has tied the previous record set when it went 19-4 in 1992-93. 

Hope Thorbahn led the 'Skins with 16 points in a game that saw them control the game from the very beginning.

Port Clinton 47, Fremont Ross 32

After struggling early and falling behind, 8-7, Port Clinton went on a 7-0 run to take the lead for good on its way to a 47-32 victory over Fremont Ross last week in non-conference action. 

Junior forward Tiffany Colston led the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Hope Thorbahn contributed 17 points.

The 'Skins will face the winner of the Perkins-Oak Harbor game on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. at Sandusky High School for a Div. II Sectional Title. Port Clinton has won all four its meetings with Perkins and Oak Harbor this season.
