The Tin Goose EAA Chapter 1247 will be hosting the Ford Tri-Motor rides at the Erie-Ottawa Regional Airport in Port Clinton from June 28-July 4. The aircraft is a 1929 Ford from the Kalamazoo AirZoo Museum where this plane was just released from their restoration hangar last year after a lengthy and detailed renovation. It is back in the air looking better than ever and ready for service.
This year’s contest is open to all boys and girls that are Ottawa County residents age 0-12 and will be held at Adams Street Park at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4. In case of rain, it will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, at the corner of Second and Adams streets in Port Clinton.
Participants are asked to don their red, white and blue for the occasion.
New this year is an optional “most photogenic” contest, which will be judged based on photographs sent in with the applications. These will be judged separately prior to July 4th, and awards will be given at the afternoon ceremonies. Registration deadline for the “most photogenic” contest is June 30, and Firecracker Cutie contest applications are due the day of the event. Firecracker Cutie Applications will be accepted on the 4th starting at 9:15 a.m.
Dave Ninke of Dream Works Entertainment, from Oak Harbor, returns to the stage with his voice, guitar and other musical accessories at Riverfront Live! The free summer concert series is held each Friday at 6:30 p.m. under the canopy at North Jefferson Street.
Ninke specializes in ’50s through ’80s oldies and rock ’n’ roll and usually grants requests.
“Dream Works offers a huge musical selection so that I can tailor my performance to the crowd,” said Ninke.
