Raymond E. Twining, 87, of Lakeside-Marblehead, died Sunday,
Sept. 16, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton.
He was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Oak Harbor, the son of Raymond L.
and Agnus (Flynn) Twining. He married Kathleen Mains on Feb. 26, 1946,
and she preceded him in death on June 30, 1990. Mr. Twining was a
self-employed painter/contractor and he also worked for the railroad
out of the Marblehead Quarry. He was a United States Army veteran
serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed coaching little league
baseball and he was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his daughters: Cathy Twining of Marblehead and Micky
Nielsen of Marblehead; son: Tim (Kathy) Twining of Ashtabula, OH;
sisters: Mary Miller and Lilly Mae Dress, both of Marblehead; many
grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Interment services will be held Sept. 24 at 10:30 am at
Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron, followed
by a bereavement meal at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 S. Church Rd.,
Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein
