Wesley R. Wightman Sr., 78, of Port Clinton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, at his residence. Wesley was born on July 6, 1934, in Fremont, the son of Ralph and Grace (Allison) Wightman. On August 2, 1954, in Angola, IN, he married Iva Della Skinner and she survives. Prior to his death there were five living generations on his mother's side of the family. Wesley was a custodian for the Port Clinton City Schools for 26 years, retiring in 1997. Wesley was a volunteer at H. B. Magruder Hospital. He loved OSU, Cleveland Browns, fishing, music and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Survivors include: loving wife of 58 years: Iva D. Wightman of Port Clinton; mother: Grace Wightman of Lakeside; sons: Wesley (Tammy) Wightman Jr. of Port Clinton, Bret (Cindy) Wightman of Elwood, IN, and Todd (Kelly) Wightman of Pemberville; daughters: Shelly (Bill) (Wightman) Young of Green Springs and Brenda (James) (Wightman) Deininger of Gibsonburg; 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren; sisters: Sharon (Frank) Rofkar of Port Clinton and Linda McCleary of Lakeside. Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Wightman and step-mother, Mary (Wightman) Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations in memory of Wesley be given to the family or Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. Barbara J. “Barb” Lochotzki, 69, of Port Clinton, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 21, at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. She was born on Jan. 15, 1944, in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late Wilber and Delores (Humphrey) Rider.

James E. Thompson, 69, of Fremont, and formerly of Port Clinton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Fremont. James was born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Port Clinton, the son of James and Leafey (Middleton) Thompson.

Francis R. “Frank” Kovalik, 88, of Catawba Island passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. He was born on Nov. 23, 1924, in Cleveland, the eldest son of the late Frank and Mary (Madger) Kovalik.
