Maxine Phipps, 92, slipped gently into the arms of the Creator on, Tuesday, March 12,. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William H. Phipps in 1999. She is survived by her son Bill, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren of Camp Verde, AZ, her daughter Sandee (Jerry) Abele of Marblehead, and the daughter of her heart, Honey (Irene) Phipps of Catawba.
Per Maxine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Maxine wished for memorials to be sent to the Humane Society of Ottawa Co., 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton, OH 43452 or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870. Henry A. Huss of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and formerly of Port Clinton, died peacefully at his home on Feb. 20 at the age of 92. Born in Chicago, IL, in 1920, he lived there and in Wyoming, OH, until he retired to Florida. He was married for 53 years to Emily (Rosenheim) Huss, of blessed memory. Henry received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin and honorably served in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War 11.
