Krupps celebrate 50 years of marriage

Thomas J. & Barbara K. (Harger) Krupp residing at 536 E. 9th St., Port Clinton, celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 9.  They were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marblehead by Father Blanc on May 9, 1964.  

Mr. & Mrs. Krupp have 5 children – Mike Krupp (Amy - Port Clinton), Kim Rider (Von - Port Clinton), Kathi Peto (Steve - Port Clinton), Jen Zelms (Mike - Marblehead) and Suzi Chrysler (Dane Urge - Put-in-Bay).  

They also have 9 grandchildren - Brady Krupp, Becca and Brock Rider, Amber and Alyssa Peto, Taylor, Abby & Andy Zelms and Tom Chrysler.  

Thomas is retired but is a volunteer firefighter for the City of Port Clinton and Barbara is employed by State Farm Insurance in Oak Harbor.

They celebrated with a dinner with their children and grandchildren.  A party over the summer is being planned in order to celebrate with many friends and relatives.

Henry Auger Christiansen July 6, 1917-May 12, 2014

Henry Auger Christiansen, 96, of Port Clinton, passed away Monday morning, May 12 at Otterbein Northshore Retirement Village, Lakeside.  He was born on July 6, 1917 to John and Meta (Hansen) Christiansen and lived in Port Clinton most of his life.  He married Marian Fillinger on June 28, 1941 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1965.  He later married Donna (Qualman) Windnagel on Aug. 30, 1969. 

Mr. Christiansen was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II in the South Pacific.  He spent most of his working years at Erie Army Depot and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church.  He loved the lake, boating and fishing.

In his retirement years Hank enjoyed a good game of golf and spent countless hours creating furniture and other items in his woodworking shop.  He was a family man who shared a legacy of love and Christian living with his entire family.

Lois H. Svehla, 94, of Port Clinton, passed away, May 13, at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor.  She was born on March 28, 1920 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Henrietta (Rohde) & Clifford Hineline.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 15, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton.  Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 16, in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions in memory of Lois may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St, Port Clinton, OH 43452 or Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison St, Port Clinton, OH 43452. Patricia “Pat” Montgomery Oct. 27, 1946-May 8, 2014

Patricia “Pat” Montgomery, 86, of Port Clinton, passed away, May 8  at Stein Hospice surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on July 20, 1927 in Alexandria, IN, the daughter of Paul and Mildred (White) Jenkins.  On October 27, 1946, in Elwood, IN, she married Robert E. “Bob” Montgomery and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2011. Pat was an office manager for 30 years at Wiedner Chevrolet in Anderson, IN, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Eastern Star, both of Alexandria, IN.  

Survivors include: Sons: Larry (Marilyn) Montgomery and Gary (Lisa) Montgomery; Grandchildren: Mike Montgomery, Kara (Greg) Myers, Jasyn Byrum, Nicole Byrum, Tyler Byrum, Robert B. Montgomery, Tammy S. Axom and Michelle L. Tellis; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild and Best Friend: Mary Olive Hurst.  Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister: Delores Prieshoff.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, at Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison St., Alexandria, IN 46001.  Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Alexandria, IN.  Memorial contributions in memory of Pat may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2500 N.
