Redskins win district championship!

Port Clinton's varsity boys basketball team defeated Bellevue in Saturday's district championship game 48-41.

Oak Harbor wrestlers second in state

The proud tradition of Oak Harbor wrestling will be posting another state champion on the wall of the wrestling room at OHHS. Ian Miller almost made it look easy last Saturday night on the way to a 19-4 technical fall over Dylan Ice of Lisbon Beaver. It was the championship match of the 145 lb. class of the Ohio Division II state finals. Miller finished the season with an astounding 41-1 record.
The Rockets finished second in the team standings behind St. Paris Graham, commonly acknowledged as the best high school wrestling program in the land. They managed to get four wrestlers on the podium on Saturday night.

Danbury drops sectional game by 2 points

A furious fourth quarter rally by the Danbury boys’ basketball team wasn’t quite enough as the Lakers lost to the Monroeville Eagles in the Sectional final at Port Clinton High School by a score of 61-59.
The Lakers trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half, but Senior Vincent Manuella and his teammates would not quit. Manuella scored 18 second-half points and the Lakers outscored Monroeville 37-25 in the second half; however the Lakers came up two points short at the buzzer.

Redskins win 47-40!

 

The Port Clinton Redskins are perfecting the come-from-behind victory. They had to do it again Wednesday night before pulling ahead in the third quarter and not looking back in their District semi-final win over Mansfield Madison. Trailing by three at the end of the first half (20-17), the Redskins spurted ahead in the third quarter to seal the deal.
