Saturday, July 13

8:15 p.m., Hoover Auditorium

The Texas Tenors will present an unforgettable musical experience from John Denver to The Righteous Brothers, Bruno Mars and more. This concert features an array of country, classical, inspirational, gospel and Broadway favorites.

The trio, made up of John Hagen, Marcus Collins and JC Fisher, had more than 100 million people tune into NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” in 2009 to see them become the highest-ranking vocal group in the history of the show. Since their whirlwind TV debut, the group has accumulated a long list of awards, including three Emmys, two PBS specials, multiple original Top 50 radio hits, four Top 10 albums, six million YouTube views and a hugely popular children’s book.

Family Night in the Park: Sanyuka Children’s Choir

Sanyuka Children’s Ministries, which means “be joyful” in the Luganda language, is an organization that started when Executive Director Allan Kizito noticed two orphaned children lingering near his home church in Kampala, Uganda in 2008. Kizito responded by recruiting volunteers to join him in caring for orphaned children. Sanyuka’s mission is to exercise the love of Jesus Christ and change lives in Uganda by giving the most vulnerable children a family, a home and a self-sustaining education.

Monday, July 15

ENCORE Chamber Music

ENCORE Chamber Music’s summer festival theme is “La Bohème: Art & Freedom.” The final performance of the group’s six-week international music festival will be presented in Hoover Auditorium. Through their festival program, the young artists present concerts, masterclasses and community events throughout the Cleveland area.

1964 Disney classic “Mary Poppins” (G)

On Tuesday, July 16, Lakeside will feature the 1964 Disney classic “Mary Poppins,” based on P.L. Travers’ book series of the same name. The film stars Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, David Tomlinson and more. The film combines live-action and animation and stars Andrews in her feature film debut as Mary Poppins.

Wednesday, July 17

7:30 p.m., Hoover Auditorium

Family Entertainment Series: Columbus Zoo Animals with Suzi Rapp

While animals are showcased one by one, learn about where they live, what they eat, their status in the wild and conservation issues. Featured animals vary depending on what animals are available the day of the program.

Rapp began her career at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium more than 30 years ago. She has worked in the Education Department, developed the Promotions Department, and now serves as the Vice President of Animal Programs.

Thursday, July 18

Reduced Shakespeare Company “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare

The Complete Works of Williams Shakespeare is an irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays. The Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) is a three-man comedy troupe that takes the long, serious subjects and reduces them to short, sharp comedies. The show was London’s longest-running comedy, having clocked a very palpable nine years in London’s West End at the Criterion Theatre.

Friday, July 19

8:15 p.m., Hoover Auditorium

Mike Albert & the Big “E” Band

Mike Albert & the Big “E” Band returns for an “Ultimate Tribute” show dedicated to Elvis Presley. With songs including “All Shook Up,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Blue Suede Shoes,” Albert has won seven major world “Elvis” contests for his impersonation of the King of Rock & Roll. His powerful voice lends itself well to every type of Elvis song from the 1950s-1970s, which allows him to keep the show fresh with an ever-changing song line-up. Albert has been performing at Lakeside since 1997. Lakesiders look forward to his performances every year, and he never disappoints.

Purchasing a Daily, Friday, Saturday or Season Chautauqua Pass include admission to Lakeside Chautauqua and the show in Hoover Auditorium.
