Wetlands restoration project underway

A $1.2 million wetlands restoration project is underway along Port Clinton’s Lake Erie shoreline, removing every trace of the invasive phragmites, especially the tenuous roots, and creating a wetlands with a diversity of native plants. The project is a partnership between Port Clinton, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Ohio EPA and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. (Photo by D’Arcy Egan)
