The many friends of long-time Chief Mike Almendinger of the Portage Fire District will host a benefit for the ailing firefighter with a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 3-8 p.m. at the Community Market VFW Memorial Hall, 251 W. Main St., Oak Harbor.

Chief Almendinger, a 34-year veteran of the Portage Fire District, has been sidelined by major health issues. All proceeds will benefit the chief, helping with living and medical expenses.
