Port Clinton Mayor Mike Snider was throwing fast jokes during a slow float at the Incredible Rubber Duck Race, a fundraiser for the United Way that was held during the 2024 Lighthouse Festival on Aug. 17. Ninety-nine rubber ducks raced across derby pond with the help of Port Clinton Fire & Rescue personnel. Even with the help of the firefighters’ really big fan, the ducks took their time across the water.

“Tomorrow, we gather to watch paint dry,” Snider said.
