The Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival’s distinguished 2022 Grand Marshall of the Walleye Festival’s Fraternal Order of Eagles Grande Parade on Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. at Waterworks Park in Port Clinton is Abbie Fox. Each year, Main Street Port Clinton recognizes an individual or organization at the Walleye Festival who has made a positive impact on the Port Clinton Community.
Fox was named the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year at its annual Dinner and Awards ceremony in April.
“Abbie Fox was born and raised on Lake Erie in Sandusky, and has been proud to call Port Clinton her home for over seven years,” said Nicole Kochensparger, President/CEO of the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce. “Abbie is a small business owner, Chamber Board Director, The Chairwoman of the Port Clinton Chamber Ambassadors Committee, and Director of the Port Clinton Sunday Farmers Market.”
Registration and check-In for the David W Leonard #2295 Fraternal Order of Eagles Grande Parade will take place at the Main Entrance of Port Clinton High School. The parade route will begin at the corner of 4th and Madison streets. The parade will head North on Madison to 2nd Street; East on to Jefferson; South on Jefferson and ending at Port Clinton High School.
Judging of the parade entrants will take place in front of the Ida Rupp Public Library on Madison Street.
Established in 2017, Fox’s Lakelynn Design boutique opened its doors in downtown Port Clinton, offering quality apparel, artisan made jewelry and goods. Fox has supported other small U.S. businesses, footwear, gifts and, of course, her signature “Lake Love.”
In 2020, Fox was able to expand and open her second store location in her hometown of Sandusky. Following her business plan to give back to her community, her involvement to help the resurrection of the downtown Port Clinton and surrounding area grew.
Giving back to the community that had shown love and support to her business was an absolute must. In addition to donating to many charitable causes, taking on sponsorships, and being involved in programs like Young Entrepreneurs at the Port Clinton Middle School, she has a taste to develop new and exciting events like the Port Clinton Sunday Market for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Fox is also a mother and wife who loves to travel when time allows, being outdoors with her family exploring new places, and an animal lover. She plans to selflessly serve and give back to the community that she proudly calls home.
