The open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has started. Ohioans have until Dec. 15, to apply, and health insurance coverage will begin Jan. 1.
Many Ohioans do not have health insurance, and affordable healthcare during the pandemic is more important than ever. Everyone who needs health insurance can apply for it at healthcare.gov.
While the U.S. Supreme Court held oral arguments on the fate of the ACA on Nov. 10, Ohio legislators continued to wrangle over protecting Ohioans’ healthcare by advancing the bipartisan Pre-Existing Condition Protection Act. The legislation would write into Ohio law several of the ACA’s popular patient protections, including coverage for those with pre-existing conditions.
