Alberta (Midge) Mullens, 91, of Monroe, Mich. was taken to Heaven on Friday, Sept. 2, from Medilodge of Monroe surrounded by her family and care givers. She was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Ironton, the daughter of the late Burton & Pansy (Krumm) Armstrong. She married Harry L. Mullens in Nov. 1947 and he preceded her in death in Aug. 1978.
Midge enjoyed reading, bingo, gardening, and family. Most of all she was a God-fearing woman of Christ.
In her younger years she worked at the Mighty Mouse Bar & Grill in Lakewood. Upon returning to Port Clinton, she was employed by Superior Pushrod in Erie Industrial Park. When the business moved to Holland, Michigan and changed their name to BLD, Alberta (Midge) went with them until she retired.
Survivors include her children, Charles (Sandy) Mullens, Herbert (Sharon) Mullens, and Darlene Fahey, all of Port Clinton; sisters: Patricia Fox of Castalia and Lillian Brown of Georgia; brother, Webb (Marietta) Armstrong of LaCarne; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Harry (Bones) Mullens and infant son, Roger Mullens; sisters, Martha Smith, Emma Jean Fall, Doris Armstrong, and infant sister Virginia Armstrong; and brother, Casius (Ivan) Armstrong.
Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, on Friday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. until Funeral Services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Beth Giller officiating. Burial will follow in Sackett Cemetery, Lakeside-Marblehead.
