Teaching with Art Dock LLC not only gave these artists the opportunity to share their skills, but allowed them to honor the long-held desire of artists to share their expertise.
Rebecca Booth, from Genoa, has a history of teaching and loving it. She relaxes students with her silly jokes and funny comments. Her next Art Dock classes will be held on July 11-13 at Inspiration Inn Bloom, a beautiful retreat in the Oak Harbor countryside. She will teach acrylics in a three-day series that will inspire students to bloom, and is open to beginner and intermediate students.
She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green and is a marketing expert, web and graphic designer. “Imagine That,” Booth’s marketing company, has won more than 27 Crystal Awards of Excellence for her creative process.
Paege Murphy, of Sandusky, has a Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts. Multi-talented Murphy’s primary medium is colored pencil. Murphy’s students say she is an excellent instructor whose teaching style ensures all students leave with a proud work of art. Murphy’s next Art Dock class onWednesday, July 13 is for kids six and up. Kids can bring a pair of light-colored sneakers and Murphy will show them how to rock them out with paint, markers, templates and other fun tools.
Dody Bowman, also of Sandusky, is a warm glass artist. While teaching ceramics at the Kapalua Art School, Kapalua, Maui, she was introduced to what one can do with glass, and for the next 18 years she sold her beautiful glass work in Maui at galleries and art fairs. Bowman wants her students to experiment with the glorious light and color of glass, while she guides them with her knowledge and experience.
