HEY, WYLIE,
The Beacon comes out each Thursday. Why does the entertainment calendar list events from Wednesday through Tuesday? By the time the paper is out on Thursday it’s too late for anything on Wednesday’s schedule.
Seems to me it would be better to publish events Thursday through Wednesday, don’t you think?
Just wondering,
Dave and Carol
HELLOOOOOO DAVE AND CAROL
The Beacon begins delivering newspapers when the first run is delivered late on Tuesday from the printer. We ship the earliest batches out as soon as possible, which is late Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
While Ottawa County readers can pick up The Beacon at distribution centers starting on Wednesday morning, some are delivered on Thursday afternoon to the most distant distribution centers in Sandusky, Huron and Vermillion.
Since we consistently try to put The Beacon in the hands of our readers on Wednesday, we also want to give them a head start on making their musical party plans by including the Wednesday evening entertainment offerings.
The Live Entertainment schedule is very difficult for our writers to compile, as you might imagine, with so many listings from all around the region. We find that people who can’t get a copy of The Beacon as quickly as they would like can head to The Beacon Website at www.thebeacon.net and check out our enewspaper. It is on the top menu of the website, allowing readers to start making plans to access the amazing music scene in our region.
The Live Entertainment listings are extensive, and our online readers in Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Mansfield, Cleveland and all around Ohio tell us it’s the first thing they look for each week.
SINCERELY,
WYLIE WALLEYE AND MY LAKE ERIE PALS
