Athens Wheeler has become a familiar band on the Music on Madison Stage in downtown Port Clinton. The group will return on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m.
Athens Wheeler is a versatile, six-piece, rock, rhythm and soul outfit out of Northwest Ohio, and a veteran of the Music on Madison Stage in downtown Port Clinton. The group will help wind down the wildly successful MOM Stage summer season on Madison Street on Saturday Sept. 24 at 8 p.m.
Appealing to the dance floor aficionados and discerning listeners alike, an Athens Wheeler setlist gracefully careens from extended jam to Motown soul to Appalachian mountain music, classic R&B and straight ahead rock and roll.
All of their music is delivered with fun, togetherness and exemplary musicianship.
Everyone in the band sings with long-time Toledo standouts Bill Lenhart on drums, Franz Schlievert playing bass, Ron Nisch on guitars, Steve Mockensturm playing keyboards, Paul Juhasz holding down the horn section, and Dorothy Dennen singing lead vocals.
