Barbara O. Gillum, 85, of Marblehead, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village. She was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Odessa, Texas, the daughter of J.D. and Claudia E. (Little) Hollaway. She married Richard R. Gillum, Jr. on Feb. 14, 1960, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2013. Barb was a realtor and owned and operated Shade Tree Country RV Park in Marblehead. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Ottawa County Board of Realtors and she was the founding director of the Danbury Schools Flag Corps. She previously served on council for the Village of Marblehead.
Surviving are her daughters: Lisa (Bill) Wiewandt of Port Clinton, Jennifer Gillum of Marblehead; son: Richard R. (Stacie) Gillum, III of Marblehead; grandchildren: Kyle Ackerman of Brunswick, Tiffany Todd of Monroe, Ga., Donya Jayde of Marblehead, Jordan Wiewandt of Port Clinton, Kathryn Wiewandt of Port Clinton, Connor Gillum of Marblehead, Claudia Gillum of Marblehead, Cameron Gillum of Marblehead; great-grandchildren: Trent, Val, R.J. and Scarlett; sister: Hootie Hill of Irvine, CA and her special daughter: Anna Fontana of Marblehead. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother: Hill Hollaway.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the funeral home. Interment in Sacket Cemetery will follow.
