Melissa Wright of the OSU Extension 4-H Program Melisaa Frisch’s fourth grade four students at Bataan Memorial Intermediate with the 4-H Smoothie Bike Challenge. The sponsored event is called UP for the Challenge.
According to the Ottawa County 4-H Youth Program website, UP for the Challenge takes a wellness approach, encouraging youth to be active and make healthy decisions. It’s about overall health and well-being, including physical, mental and social well-being.
Students made salsa using the bike challenge. The blender works with “pedal power” by students to create the salsa. Students took part in every step of making the salsa and then enjoyed a tasty treat.
