Griffin Miller and Isabella Hill, grade five students at Bataan Memorial Intermediate Elementary received top honors in the Ohio 2022 National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest.
Their artwork was submitted by Bataan Memorial Art Teacher Laura Courtright. The poster contest is organized by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention with an annual theme of “Bringing Our Missing Children Home.”
“The annual contest creates an opportunity for schools, law enforcement, and child advocates to discuss the issue of missing and/or exploited children with youth, parents, and guardians and to promote child safety,” noted their website. Griffin Miller’s design won first place in Ohio, and Isabella Hill was third. Griffin’s poster will also compete against the 50 other state winners for a chance to win a trip to Washington D.C.
Griffin and Isabella will receive their awards on Tuesday, May 10 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center from Attorney General Dave Yost.
