Port Clinton’s Bataan School recently participated in a Penny Challenge to benefit Joyful Connections, an Oak Harbor social agency that keeps kids and parents connected. The children collected over $375 with an intense, yet friendly, competition. The winners were Stacie Gillum’s (above photo) second grade class with 11,432 points and Kerri Ziegler’s (below photo) fourth grade class with 1,163 points.
Executive Director Shanna Strouse and Program Manager Tami Matthews presented each class with a $25 check to spend on classroom supplies.
Joyful Connections provides opportunities for children to stay connected with their parents or other family members in a safe, secure, neutral, and child-focused environment. Joyful Connections exists to minimize the negative impact on children experiencing challenging family situations.
