Bataan Memorial Preschool classes have been learning all about helping and being kind to others. As part of this lesson, teacher Erin Benner and students decided to help pets who do not have homes and live in an animal shelter. They began with collecting items that the shelter needs by the preschool classes, then with grades kindergarten through second grade at Bataan Primary were invited to help, too.

“The generosity of families in our community has been overwhelming and is evident from the amazing amount of items that have been donated for this kindness project,” said Benner. All items will be donated to Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary in April, as well as area shelters Safe Harbor works closely with to help animals.
