One of the most knowledgeable scam experts in Northwestern Ohio will be featured on Thursday, April 4 at the monthly meeting of Bay Township Crime Watch. The monthly meeting at Bay Township Hall, 4471 W. Fremont Rd., features free dinners at 6 p.m. and a presentation by well-known Dick Epstein of the Toledo Better Business Bureau at 7 p.m.
The meeting is open to the public. Dinners are free.
“Dick Epstein is one of the best in letting people know about new scams that seem to be appearing every day,” said McCord, head of The Crime Watch Community. “He always has first-hand information on crimes of deception, internet crimes and crimes against our senior citizens.
“It will be informative and entertaining to hear how to identify and handle these troubling issues. All are welcome to attend the presentation, and to have dinner with the Crime Watch members and guests. For questions, call 419-341-6846.”
Bay Township Crime Watch hosted a free dinner for veterans recently at Bay Township Hall, and getting the biggest round of applause was young Melvin McCord, son of Crime Watch organizer Mel McCord. While all of the old veterans were honored, so was Melvin McCord, who has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and is in boot camp. (Photo by D’Arcy Egan)
