After a storybook journey to the best football season in Port Clinton High School history, Head Coach Beau Carmon has stepped down. In nine years at the helm, Coach Carmon turned Port Clinton into a winning program leading the team to two SBC Championships, the district’s first Regional Championship and final four appearance.
“We are extremely proud of the contributions that Coach Carmon has made to our football program since he was hired 9 years ago,” said Patrick Adkins, Superintendent of Schools. “He not only produced great football players but great young men.
“While we are disappointed Coach Carmon will no longer be the head coach of the Port Clinton Redskins, we will be forever grateful for what he and his staff brought to our program. We wish him nothing but the best.”
Carmon and his family will remain in Port Clinton. He plans to stay involved in the Port Clinton High School football program and support the new head coach as needed.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to lead the Port Clinton Redskins Football program. My decision to step down is not influenced by anything or anyone in particular,” said Carmon. “It is, without question, what is best for the program, myself, and most importantly my family.
“I intend to continue my educational career at Port Clinton City Schools. My family is deeply invested in this great school district and we all are grateful everyday that we live in such a wonderful community with high values.”
Thank you Coach Carmon. PC people are great. And no one in this small town ever forgets the people who gave their all.
