MARBLEHEAD – There are many benefits to being an Otterbein Marblehead resident, like living near Lake Erie and right next door to Lakeside Chautauqua. Residents can choose from a full schedule of activities on and off-campus every week hosted by Otterbein Life Enrichment Director Kelly Pryor, and they often take bus rides into Lakeside for concerts and events.

But on June 25, Otterbein kept the fun at home. Residents enjoyed making tie-dyed shirts and eating snow cones outside on the front patio. In July, they plan to host a cooking demo with kids from Lakeside.

Among the residents who made t-shirts was Anna Povlick, who has lived at Otterbein since 2020. Povlick appreciates the kindness of the staff and the skills of the Otterbein chefs who make many of her favorite dishes, like cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, and meatloaf.

Povlick is currently training with other residents for the fall Otterbein Olympics in St. Marys, where she will compete in Wii bowling. But for now, she is enjoying the warm summer Marblehead days at Otterbein.

“I like it. You get to meet so many different people,” Povlick said. “The help is always so nice, and they have good cooks, too.”
